Taking the perfect pics
Even though your photos are the most important resource on your profile, you DO NOT need to spend money on professional headshots. Well-lit, clear pictures with no distractions will work fine. Make sure the picture looks like you. No selfies, no filters, no glam shots. You will need frontal, side, and back pictures, as well as a full length shot.
Make sure your pictures are current. If there is a change to your look, (hair length, hair colour, facial hair, etc.) it is in your best interest to update your pictures on your profile. It is also important that you keep your pictures as up-to-date as possible.
THE DO's
How to take your
front face shot

-
Well-Lit
-
Clear
-
Nice natural make-up
-
Solid background
This picture was taken in my apartment. I used natural sunlight as my lighting, and a blue curtain as my solid backdrop. A solid, not boldly coloured wall or door can also be used. Because I was alone, to ensure a nice steady picture,
I used a tripod with a smartphone mount. You can also get someone to take the picture for you.

THE DO's
How to take your
full length shot
-
Nice, casual clothing
-
Well-lit
-
In focus
-
Solid background
-
Clear view of top of the head to toe
This picture was also taken in my apartment. I used a light source to properly light the individual. I chose not to use the blue backdrop I normally use for my self-tape auditions because I wanted to provide an example of a background that is easily accessible and demonstrate that any solid-coloured area works just fine. Do not get intimidated if you do not have "professional" equipment. The "model" is wearing nice, casual clothing that gives an idea of his body shape. A tripod was not used for this photo, I took it by holding the phone as steady as possible.
